"Sozni Embroidery" an artform being practiced since centuries now is very well known. The beauty of it is breathtaking. The delicate mtoifs inspired by nature are just stunning. This craft is practiced both by men and women in the valley. It is one of the most intricate needle work from Kashmir. This embroidery is either done on wool or on silk in general. This one is a beautiful stole that is handwoven first and then hand embroidered allover - also called "Jaal" pattern. These are most exclusive pieces and are handpicked. Steps to make these stoles are first of all designs to be embroidered are drawn on the fabric followed by selection of threads in terms of colour combinations that would look appealing. The designs or motifs are generally paisleys, bels, chinar leaves, birds and so on including at times geometric patterns.
