Description

Nui Shibori is a hand-stitched resist-dyeing technique where the fabric is hand-sewn in specific patterns, pulled tight, and then dyed — the stitching resists the dye, leaving behind soft, organic motifs once the threads are removed. Each piece carries subtle variations in the pattern, a signature of the handwork involved. The silk base gives the set a natural sheen, gentle drape, and a light, breathable feel. This one is beautiful shade of pink.

Shibori is a centuries-old resist-dyeing art form, and the Nui (stitched) variation in particular demands precision and patience, making every piece a small work of craft rather than a mass-printed repeat. Silk enhances the technique further, holding dye beautifully and lending the finished fabric a soft luster.

Craft & Technique

Yes, each Shibori piece is hand-stitched and hand-dyed, so slight variations in the pattern are natural and are a mark of genuine handwork, not a defect.

Care & Maintenance

Dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the silk texture and dye. If hand washing, use a mild silk-safe detergent in cold water and dry in shade.

Occasion and Styling

The rich blue tone and detailed Shibori work make it suitable for festive wear, family functions, and dressed-up daytime occasions.

Authenticity & Sourcing

Yes, both the kurta fabric and dupatta are woven in 100% pure silk, giving the set a natural sheen and soft drape. Both Kurta and dupatta are SILKMARK CERTIFIED
