Description

We wanted to celebrate the onset of monsoon with these beauties and lovingly call this collection as “MEGH Collection”

“Megh” means clouds and so our collection of Indigo Sarees this time is on Pure Kota cotton which is handwoven, very soft and comfortable! The saree has Handblock Dabu print and has its own blouse too! To add more colour to the ensemble we paired each one of them with Pure cotton Blouse with hand Kantha embroidery!

Cotton Kantha blouse 1 m

Dabu printing is a mud resist hand block print. Wherein, first the design is printed using mud, covered with saw dust once the paste is dried to protect the design from the dye. Then the fabric is dipped in Indigo dye. That’s the simplest way to explain the technique. However there are several steps of washing the fabric, printing and dyeing. When the fabric is dyed, the colour does not penetrate the portions which are already printed with mud. The dyes used are natural.

The Dabu technique is revived and is today flourishing in many villages in Rajasthan.

The designs used are nature inspired with flowers, leaves, paisley and so on. Sometimes geometric designs are also used.
